Established in 2019 by Heather and Pedro Sardela, Blossom and Bone Florals is all about bringing artistic flair and community engagement to floral design. We want to offer you a fresh perspective on flower deliveries.
During the NC growing season, we work closely with local farms and wholesalers, such as Piedmont Wholesale Flowers, Happy as a Coneflower, and Clear Black Flowers. We recognize the privilege of living in an area where local flowers are both luxurious an abundant, and are beyond grateful for the opportunity to work with such beautiful bounty year in and year out.
Heather is the creative force behind all things Blossom & Bone. Heather got her start in floral design at Asrai Garden in Chicago in 2018 and combines her experience in English-garden style floral design with her own maximalist approach of showcasing local blooms and textures, while maintaining a commitment to sustainability. Heather's dedication to sustainable floristry has not only contributed to the success of B&BF, but also earned her the Mayesh Design Star award in 2023 and three consecutive years of being voted "Durham's Best" by Durham Mag.
Heather's floral design journey includes learning from respected individuals like Elizabeth Cronin from Asrai Garden, Julio from The Flower Hat, Gabriela from La Musa de las Flores, and TJ McGrath and Becky Feasibly from the Sustainable Flowers Project
In her down time, she enjoys traveling, hyper focusing on new hobbies (and then immediately abandoning them), and immersing herself in nature.
When you meet Pedro, he will joke that he only handles the custodial duties here at Blossom and Bone, but in actuality, he is the spine of this business and the heart of the company. Always cool under pressure and willing to lend a hand, he'll make you feel welcome immediately (and will probably tell you a dad joke or two). When he's not making our lives better at the shop, he enjoys cooking, caring for his plants, and going on walks with his dogs.
